Silk Noil

Back to fabric types

Silk for nappy use is know as Raw silk, or Silk Noil.

Silk is used as a liner in nappies.  It is not absorbent, or does it have wicking properties.

Raw Silk is a 100% natural fibre that promotes healthy skin. You can use Raw silk as a liner to your nappies, laying the raw silk in your babies nappy. Raw silk is great for the skin.

Raw silk contains a soft creamy wax (sericin) from the silkworm that helps prevent and heal nappy rash without the need to use lotions and creams.

The Silk can be used as a stay dry liner but is not as efficient as a polyester fabric.

Silk can be used full-time for babies with sensitive skin providing a natural alternative to fleece.
