Q: Suggested washing of your nappies
How should I wash my PUL nappies?
A:
• Dry pail you nappies. This means to place them in a nappy bucket without anything, just the nappies, booster’s etc. • Scrape any solids into the loo, or use a tool such as the Little squirt, this greatly reduces the incidence of staining. • Nappies, booster’s etc can be washed in a normal cycle in your washing machine, throwing in any other items of clothing. I generally throw my sons clothes in with his nappies. You can use normal clothes washing detergent. • Line drying in the sun will get off any stains that may remain. • Line drying may prolong the life of your PUL nappies.

What do I need to know about PUL fabrics?
A:
Care of PUL
PUL (Polyurethane Laminated fabrics)
This is a fabric that has been treated with a coating to make it waterproof. It has a small amount of breathability.
The printed knits and wovens are most often 100% cotton or cotton blend. These are fabrics I've purchased and sent to the laminator to have PUL applied to the back. These fabrics may feel stiff at first but will soften up after washing. The plain PUL are 100% polyester.
PUL does not need to be pre-washed before sewing. DO NOT: (below mentioned points will lessen the life of your nappies) • Soak your PUL made items in bleach. Eg –napisan, nappy soakers. • Tumble-dry for long periods, short tumble-dries occasionally are fine. • Use vinegar in washes as it may affect the PUL.
